NorthPort and draftee Robert Bolick come to terms on rookie deal

Rookie guard Robert Bolick and NorthPort agreed to a two-year deal a couple of days after the Batang Pier tabbed him with the third overall pick in the 2018 PBA Draft.

Bolick's manager, Marvin Espiritu, confirmed the development. He signed the maximum rookie contract worth P4.4 million together with Espiritu as well as NorthPort team manager Bonnie Tan and assistant manager Waiyip Chong.

NorthPort made sure to sign Bolick, who led San Beda to three straight championships in the NCAA. He emerged as an elite point guard after transferring to San Beda from La Salle.

Bolick is certainly a big addition for the Batang Pier, who have struggled to make the playoffs the past season.

The two-way guard will join a crew headed by Stanley Pringle, one of the best point guards in the Philippines.

The team hopes his winning attitude will rub off on the rest of the Batang Pier.

"Robert Bolick is a great addition to the NorthPort Batang Pier Team. With his positivity and winning attitude, what he did in his collegiate career is something you can expect he'll bring into our team," Tan said.

Bolick was picked behind CJ Perez (Columbian Dyip) and Bobby Ray Parks (Blackwater) but was the first rookie to sign a contract.
