Ravens' Hayden Hurst asks for help to find 'one that got away'

OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Hayden Hurst was headed for the first practice of the offseason, and the Baltimore Ravens tight end already felt like he dropped the ball.

Hurst, the Ravens' first-round pick from a year ago, went to Twitter for help to find the woman who was on his flight from Jacksonville, Florida, to Baltimore that he was unable to meet.

Some Ravens fans were not immediately sympathetic to Hurst's missed romantic connection.

Couldn’t catch her? What’s your 40 time?

Hold on...NFL can't catch up with tall brunette...did the Ravens sign the wrong person?

So you go outrun by someone in heels?

Hurst later explained that he was stopped by a fan to take a picture after getting off the flight, which curtailed his pursuit of the woman. A few of Hurst's current teammates and even a former one chimed in on his airport misfortune.

Hurst, the 25th overall pick of the 2018 draft, had a strong offseason and training camp last season before suffering a stress fracture in his foot. That injury required surgery and sidelined Hurst for the first four games of the season.

Overshadowed by another rookie tight end in Andrews, Hurst finished with a disappointing 13 catches for 163 yards receiving (which ranked eighth among rookie tight ends) and one touchdown. To remind everyone that he played at less than full strength, Hurst posted on Instagram in February an X-ray of his foot with a screw in it.

Hurst believes he's 100 percent again, which should help him make the big catch on and perhaps off the field.

"There's a lot more in the tank," Hurst said after the season. "I'm excited to get healthy this offseason, work out and get back next year. And hopefully I can be even more of a contributor."
