A.J. Green, Geno Atkins make Pro Bowl despite Bengals' disappointing season

The Cincinnati Bengals had two players named to the Pro Bowl. Here’s a look at who was selected and who wasn't selected:

SELECTIONS

A.J. Green, WR, seventh Pro Bowl selection: While this hasn't been Green's best season, he is currently sitting at 980 yards and eight touchdowns and has a chance for the sixth 1,000-yard season of his career. After Green made the Pro Bowl last season despite missing the final six games, he certainly was going to make it this season as well.

Geno Atkins, DT, sixth Pro Bowl selection: Atkins, who was named a Pro Bowl starter, leads the Bengals and is second in the NFL among interior linemen with nine sacks. He still managed two sacks against the Vikings despite an injured toe. When he is at his best, he is one of the best players at his position.

SNUBS

Bengals safety Clayton Fejedelem was named a second alternate for special teams play and linebacker Vontaze Burfict was named a fourth alternate at his position. It's hard to argue the Bengals had any snubs this season, although guard Clint Boling and defensive end Carlos Dunlap could have squeaked in as alternates.
