          Michigan State recruit Miles Bridges maxes out vertical test

          You have to empathize with Michigan State fans right now.

          The Spartans just lost Denzel Valentine, the Associated Press National Player of the Year last season and the 14th pick in last week's NBA draft, and standout freshman Deyonta Davis to the pros.

          Sure, Tom Izzo boasts a strong recruiting class, and veterans Lourawls "Tum Tum" Nairns, Gavin Schilling and Eron Harris return.

          But how will Michigan State fans deal with the heartbreak of losing ...

          Wait a minute. Is that Miles Bridges showing the world he can touch the top of the backboard (with ease) in a test of his leaping ability?

          Yes. That's exactly what it is.

          OK. Bridges, a five-star recruit who anchors Michigan State's incoming class along with five-star prep Josh Langford, can fly. He touches the highest mark in this test of his vertical leap. He can't jump any higher per this measurement.

          This short video posted Thursday doesn't solve anything for Michigan State men's basketball.

          But it's a warning:

          1. If you see Bridges on a fast break, you should probably choose your dignity over an attempted block.

          2. He could probably jump even higher judging by how casually he achieves this feat.

          3. If your coach asks why you didn't stop Bridges on a fast break, you can show him this video.

          The Spartans should enter next season as a top-10 team and a strong contender in the Big Ten. They'll miss Valentine and Davis; they will not, however, lack athleticism.
