David Bakhtiari lobbies Richard Sherman to consider joining Packers

GREEN BAY, Wis. – Richard Sherman is about to become a free agent, and David Bakhtiari thinks he has the perfect place for the former All-Pro cornerback.

The Green Bay Packers left tackle posted on Twitter that he has what Sherman wants in his next team.

Sherman has told multiple media outlets that he wants to go to a Super Bowl contender with a star quarterback now that his tenure with the Seattle Seahawks is over. The Seahawks told Sherman on Friday that he would be released.

The Packers are trying to improve their defense. It started almost immediately after the season when defensive coordinator Dom Capers was fired. New general manager Brian Gutekunst already has brought in one potential free agent for a visit – former Jets defensive lineman Muhammad Wilkerson.

Sherman is coming off an injury-plagued season that ended when he suffered a ruptured Achilles’ tendon. The surgery, incidentally, was performed in Green Bay by foot/ankle specialist Dr. Bob Anderson, who opened a new practice along with Packers team physician Dr. Pat McKenzie last year. Sherman even posted a video of himself across from Lambeau Field on the day of the surgery.
