Grace Scharfenberg, Beaver Dam High School

Year: Senior.

Sports: Basketball, golf, softball.

Sports highlights: Grace is on target to earn 12 total varsity letters, four each in golf, basketball and softball.

In golf, she played the No. 4 role on the varsity for four consecutive seasons. The Golden Beavers won the Wisconsin Little Ten Conference title her sophomore season. She earned all-Northern Badger Conference honors as a junior. A team captain as a senior, she also earned Academic All-State and Mount Horeb meet honors.

In basketball, she has been a reserve shooting guard for the three-time conference and two-time WIAA Division 2 state champions. She is a team captain her senior year.

A three-year starter in softball playing third base, she earned All-Badger North Conference second-team honors as an infielder her junior, sophomore and freshman seasons. The Golden Beavers were also regional champions her junior year. She has been named a captain for her senior year.

Favorite subject/class: Mathematics.

I got my start in sports: Playing tee-ball. I started playing basketball in third grade and golf as a freshman.

I like about high school sports: I am able to play with my best friends and compete against other towns.

I enjoy playing softball because: It has taught me how to be strong on and off the diamond.
