With rookie Davon Reed sidelined four to six months after undergoing surgery to repair a meniscus issue in his left knee, the Phoenix Suns have brought in several free-agent shooting guards for workouts, according to The Arizona Republic.

Rumor Central

Scott Bordow reports the group includes Isaiah Canaan, Andre Dawkins, RJ Hunter and Xavier Silas.

Canaan made 39 appearances with the Chicago Bulls in 2016-17 and averaged 4.6 points and 1.3 rebounds.

Dawkins, undrafted out of Duke in 2014, played in the G League last season and finished the year with the Texas Legends. His rights are owned by the Agua Caliente Clippers after they selected him in the G League expansion draft.

Hunter, the No. 28 selection in the 2015 NBA draft by the Boston Celtics, spent most of 2016-17 in the G League and during the 2017 Las Vegas Summer League he played with the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Suns are very familiar with Silas, 29, as he played for their G League team, the Northern Arizona Suns, last season.

If the Suns don't sign any guards, they can shift Derrick Jones Jr. and TJ Warren from small forward to shooting guard to take up the backup minutes behind starter Devin Booker.
