CHICAGO -- One week after Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy called defensive lineman Akiem Hicks’ number on the goal line in New York, Chicago used another form of jumbo-sized trickery to extend their third-quarter lead over the Los Angeles Rams.
Facing 3rd-and-goal from the Los Angeles 2-yard line, Nagy had three linemen run on the field and report as eligible receivers. The lightest player was QB Mitchell Trubisky at 222 pounds and the play featured 10 players over 290 pounds.

Instead of handing the ball off, Trubisky faked the give to Hicks and rolled to his right where he found backup offensive lineman Bradley Sowell open for a 2-yard touchdown.
“The name of that play was ‘Santa Sleigh’. It was pretty cool," Sowell said. "A lot of the operation behind it was cool.”
So, if you had an offensive tackle scoring the only touchdown in this matchup of division-leaders, you're one heck of a prognosticator.
Trubisky actually attempted a throw to Sowell in the endzone earlier in the year, but the ball was under thrown and intercepted.
“We needed a play, so they gave it to the playmaker," Sowell said. "It was one of those things that I’m glad coach [Matt] Nagy trusts me to do. He tried it with me earlier in the season and got flak for it but he gave it back to me and it worked out great.”
