Most significant move: The Seattle Seahawks trimmed their roster to 75 on Monday, and the biggest surprise was the departure of center Lemuel Jeanpierre. Jeanpierre began the preseason as the starting center in place of Max Unger, who was traded to the Saints in the Jimmy Graham deal. But after a shaky performance against the Denver Broncos, he was replaced by Drew Nowak, and Jeanpierre apparently will not be retained as the backup. The Seahawks instead terminated his contract, and Jeanpierre will look to catch on with another team. In four seasons with the Seahawks, he started 11 games.

Aside from Nowak, the Seahawks have two other center options on the roster: rookie Kristjan Sokoli and Patrick Lewis. Either one of them could win the backup job, or the Seahawks could look to add a center once other teams trim their rosters.

One receiver down: The Seahawks have traded wide receiver Kevin Norwood to the Carolina Panthers for an undisclosed conditional draft pick in 2017. Norwood, a fourth-round pick out of Alabama in 2014, appeared in nine games as a rookie. He had nine catches for 102 yards and played 16 percent of the team's offensive snaps (201 overall).

The Seahawks now have the following wide receivers on their roster: Doug Baldwin, Jermaine Kearse, Tyler Lockett, Chris Matthews, Ricardo Lockette, B.J. Daniels, Kevin Smith and Kasen Williams. They have kept at least six receivers coming out of the preseason in each of the past two seasons.

What's next: The team has until 4 p.m. ET on Saturday to get the roster down to 53.

Seahawks cuts: Center Lemuel Jeanpierre (contract terminated), DT D'Anthony Smith (contract terminated), OT Jesse Davis, CB George Farmer, WR Deshon Foxx, WR Deontay Greenberry, CB Keelan Johnson, LB Quayshawn Nealy, DE Greg Scruggs, safety Ty Zimmerman, FB Brandon Cottom and CB Triston Wade.

The team also placed CB Jeremy Lane and WR Paul Richardson on the reserve/PUP list.
