Anthony Joshua's next two fights will be staged at London's Wembley Stadium, promoters Matchroom Boxing have confirmed.
IBF-WBA-WBO world champion Joshua's next fight will take place on Sept. 22 against an opponent to be announced next week while he will also fight Apr. 13 next year at the National Stadium.
WBA mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin is widely expected to be the opponent for the Sept. 22 contest while WBC titlist Deontay Wilder has been offered the Apr. 13 date for what could be a full unification of the heavyweight division.
"I am returning to Wembley after two mega fights in Cardiff," said Joshua. "I want to thank the supporters from Wales and Great Britain and also the people of London for patiently awaiting my return.
"Being north London born and raised it is in my blood. The opportunity to fight in such an iconic stadium is normally a once in career opportunity, so to be given the chance to fight there again is amazing. Wembley just added a fourth lion to the den."
Joshua will fight at Wembley Stadium for a third time in September. His first, a quickfire knockout win against Matt Legg, came on the undercard of Carl Froch's victory over George Groves back in 2014 in Joshua's sixth professional fight, while Joshua's greatest night -- a breathtaking knockout of Wladimir Klitschko which won ESPN's fight of the year in 2017 -- also came at England's national stadium.
