Easton, defense help Bryant beat Robert Morris 24-13

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- Dalton Easton threw two touchdown passes and the Bryant defense allowed a season-low 98 total yards in the Bulldogs' 24-13 win over Robert Morris on Saturday.

Easton completed 18 of 28 passes for 209 yards with no interceptions and became Bryant's career leader with 969 pass attempts.

Freshman Thomas Wright, who came in with 2 1/2 sacks this season, had two on Saturday and Thomas Costigan added three tackles for loss, including a sack for the Bulldogs (4-5, 3-2 Northeast Conference). Bryant came in averaging 373.2 yards allowed per game and forced the Robert Morris (2-8, 1-4) offense into four three-and-outs.

Gerald Ferguson blocked a punt and returned it 26 yards for a touchdown to give Robert Morris its first lead of the game, 13-10, with 1:56 left in the third quarter, but Easton hit Mitchell Baxter for a 5-yard touchdown. A 32-yard punt by Bryant's Ricky Perez was downed at the 3 and Charles Wingate's interception set up Brenden Femiano's 4-yard TD run on the next play to seal it.
