Bentley, Glass lead Alabama A&M past Texas Southern 30-13

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- Jordan Bentley ran for two second-quarter touchdowns and Aqeel Glass threw two touchdown passes as Alabama A&M built a 30-0 lead and held on to beat Texas Southern, 30-13 in the Southwest Conference opener for both schools Saturday night.

The victory was the first in four games this season for the Bulldogs.

Nick Carden got Alabama A&M (1-3, 1-0) on the board with 5:15 left in the first quarter, connecting on a 19-yard field goal. Bentley scored from 4 yards out early in the second quarter and Glass followed with a 62-yard strike to O Miles.

By halftime the Bulldogs led 23-0 and Glass pushed it to 30- early in the third quarter with a 13-yard pass to Tere Calloway.

Glass was 22 of 37 for 337 yards and two touchdowns, but was intercepted twice.

Texas Southern was held to just 288 yards of total offense.
