Alabama A&M cruises to 27-14 win over UAPB

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- Trevon Walters had two touchdowns, Devonte King returned an interception for another score and Alabama A&M cruised to a 27-14 win over UAPB on Saturday.

Alabama A&M (2-3, 2-0 Southwestern Athletic Conference) never trailed as King picked off UAPB's Brandon Duncan on the third play of the game and returned it 23 yards for the touchdown. Nick Carden then hit the first of his two field goals about eight minutes later and Walters got a 19-yard touchdown run in the second quarter to make it 17-0.

Walters finished with 83 yards on 16 carries, adding a 12-yard touchdown late in the fourth quarter. Aqeel Glass was 26 of 43 for 291 yards passing and Octayvious Miles had five catches for 100 yards.

UAPB (2-3, 1-1) cut it to a 10-point game just before the half when Jaelen Collins snagged a 5-yard touchdown pass from Duncan to cap 61-yard drive. Also scoring for UAPB was Christian Jordan, who had a 20-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
