QB J.P. Caruso transfers from Appalachian State to Delaware

J.P. Caruso, Appalachian State's second-string quarterback last season, will play his final two seasons at Delaware.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Caruso, from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, first announced his intentions on social media. He began summer graduate classes at Delaware on Monday and became eligible for the Blue Hens, who have a new coach in Danny Rocco.

Caruso spent three years at Appalachian State, including a redshirt season in 2014. Last season, he completed all six of his passes for 46 yards with one touchdown and had 12 carries for 46 yards with one score.

Delaware returns a two-year starting quarterback in Joe Walker, although he has struggled as a passer.
