Isaiah Crowell's charges dropped

The gun charges against former Georgia running back Isaiah Crowell last summer have been dismissed, according to court documents obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Georgia dismissed Crowell a day after the charges were filed, and he played last season for Alabama State.

Crowell faced a felony charge of possessing a weapon with an altered ID mark, and misdemeanor charges of possession and carrying a concealed weapon without a license and carrying a weapon within in a school zone.

The gun was found under the driver's seat of Crowell's mother's car, but the dismissal documents said, "The state would be unable to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that this defendant actually possessed the weapon or even knew it was there."
