"Our fielding was good, but the bowlers did really well," says Zimbabwe captain Hamilton Masakadza. "But the batting has been a let down for us this tour, we will look to correct that before we go to Bangladesh. The top three or top four wasn't setting up a platform for the team, and that didn't allow us to express ourselves. We have to adjust quickly to Bangladesh conditions. We play in the next five-six days, so time is short. Mavuta has come on really well this series, his bowling has been a revelation."

Imran Tahir is Man of the Series, but he isn't there as he was released from the squad to be given rest. JP Duminy collects the award on his behalf.

"If you look at the series, it was said from the start that a few guys will be getting opportunities," says JP Duminy. "The guys got batting time and opportunities. Not a lot of high scores were scored in the one-day series, but the selectors can look at these guys, which will be good in the long run. So good things to come out of the tour and should help us in Australia. We've been speaking of the brand of cricket we want to play with the bat, and the Australia series will be an opportunity for us to bring that out. Conditions play a big part of how we play in Australia. But a great opportunity for us."

Suyog: "For Zimbabwe, the takeaway clearly is Mavuta, they should carefully nurture him. He has a very bright future."

2.40pm Not good news. The rain's back, and it's pretty heavy. The outfield was pretty waterlogged already, so chances of a game very slim, really. Not too surprising, though, given the forecast we've had all along.

1.45pm After three ODIs and two T20Is, this 2018-19 limited-overs series between South Africa and Zimbabwe is still searching for its first real contest. Zimbabwe have come close on more than one occasion, there's no denying that, but momentary sparks of brilliance are hardly enough to win series against top-flight teams such as South Africa. Now, SA have sealed the series. Zimbabwe have nothing to lose. Given that, can they come out with no inhibitions and put up a strong performance to bow out on a winning note? That, of course, wouldn't be any kind of a long-term solution to their issues that will require deeper introspection. But a win is a win, and Zimbabwe would be more than glad to accept one after a rough series. They've made their share of changes, but can they finally settle down on one that pushes and tests an overpowering home team?
