Scorer: Ranjith P | Commentator: Deivarayan Muthu

7.20pm That is that. There is a lot of seepage on the pitch. " Some extremely soft areas on the pitch and we would have to start the game started by 9.16pm at latest, but we don't anticipate much to change in the next hour and a half. No chance to get the game started," says umpire Brathwaite.

So, the match has been called off at Warner Park and the teams get a point each. This is Deivarayan Muthu and P Ranjith signing off, hoping the weather is more promising at your end. Cheers.

7pm "The only concern is the main pitch," says the curator. The umpires, meanwhile, make their way out to the middle. The covers are still on in the outfield. Do stick around for more updates.

michael: "For Stars to qualify for semis, they must win both remaining games plus Patriots must lose all of their remaining games. Tridents must also lose all except the game against Patriots. Very slim chance of all happening --- I'm poor at permutations and combinations, but interesting...

Here's PDP on how Stars' Jaskaran Malhotra and three others have found redemption through the CPL

Malhotra never made it past Himachal Pradesh's age-group teams before migrating to the USA in the middle of this decade. He wound up marrying an Indian-American from New York before the couple moved to Texas so he could pursue more serious cricket playing and coaching opportunities there. The commitment paid off when he led USA in scoring at the Super50 with 277 runs and was picked by St Lucia Stars.

Brad Hodge, Stars coach: No issues with the squad. We finished at the wrong side of closes games and that took our momentum a bit. Warner brought up the suggestion, and we just need some stability. He's an extremely talented opener, and now is in the middle. Chapman started and unfortunately got injured. We're trying to play an exciting brand of cricket, we've had a good scoring rate, and hope to finish the season well.

6.45pm Trevor Penny, Patriots' assistant coach: The leggie was good last match, and we had to rebuild last match. We were definitely 20 short. Fielding has been really good, kept us in the game, and maybe we tried too hard with the ball on a wicket that was bouncing a bit. We gave 19 extras, which was costly, but we needed to have get 20 runs more. Hopefully, it doesn't rain again. We might get a shortened game

Captain Chris Gayle and head coach Donovan Miller are milling around the boundary. The wait continues at Warner Park

6.40pm A few spots on a short-of-a-good-length area are of a concern and the outfield has some wet patches. The covers are off. Crucial game for both teams coming up

Interesting, the blow dryer was out to dry the pitch following the rain. The supper sopper is at work too at Warner Park

6.25pm CPL T20 has tweeted: After initial inspection it has been determined that the game is delayed. Further inspection will take place at 7pm local time

Adesh : "Covers are off, drying the field at the moment . "

While it rains, here's PDP's bulletin from yesterday's game in Barbados, where Oshane Thomas and Martin Guptill sparkled

5.40pm It's drizzling at Warner Park and the start has been delayed. Stick around for further updates

The covers are on and the next inspection is at 6pm

Anwar: "Any news from the field?" --- No updates yet. Assume it's still raining at Warner Park

Nepal legspinner Sandeep Lamichhane has left Patriots for national duty, and South Africa's Rassie van der Dussen has joined the roster. He is Lions' vice-captain, top-scorer in South Africa's first-class domestic competition in 2017-18, and a Global T20 Canada winner

Missed the action from the third week of CPL 2018? Fret not... We have the major highlights here

In a first, following the introduction of new rules in the Caribbean Premier League this year, St Lucia Stars were punished for slow over rate by having their net run rate docked.

5.30pm Good evening and welcome to ESPNcricinfo's live ball-by-ball coverage of the 21st match of the CPL featuring St Kitts & Nevis Patriots and bottom-dwellers St Lucia Stars. Stars looked like their old selves against Guyana Amazon Warriors, losing their way in a chase of 141 in Gros Islet, but Pollard's 18-ball 41 - including a 30-run over off Devendra Bishoo - earned them an important two points. A 21-run defeat at the hands of Tallawahs followed, but with two games left against fourth- and fifth-placed Patriots and Barbados Tridents to follow, the Stars would look to finish strong and secure their first semi-final spot since 2016.
