The Overwatch League on Friday announced disciplinary action against four professional players for a variety of infractions, including the use of anti-gay slurs and misuse of social media. From the Dallas Fuel, Timo "Taimou" Kettunen has been fined $1,000 for his use of anti-gay slurs on his personal stream. Félix "xQc" Lengyel will be fined $4,000 and suspended for four matches after he "repeatedly used an emote in a racially disparaging manner on the league's stream and on social media," according to a statement released by Overwatch League. Additionally, xQc used "disparaging language" when interacting on social media and his personal stream. This is xQc's second fine and suspension since the Overwatch League launched last January. The Houston Outlaws' Tae-yeong "TaiRong" Kim has been issued a formal warning after posting offensive material on social media. Ted "Silkthread" Wang of the Los Angeles Valiant has been fined $1,000 for account sharing, which breaks Blizzard's end user agreement. The Overwatch League's official statement said it was "unacceptable for members of the Overwatch League to use or distribute hateful, racist, or discriminatory speech or memes." "We are committed to building a community around the Overwatch League that is welcoming and inclusive for all players and fans, and we hope that these disciplinary actions demonstrate our seriousness in that endeavor," the statement concluded.
