Fantasy Football 101: League and team pages

Fantasy NFL, Fantasy

Now that you've joined an ESPN Fantasy Football league, it's time to take a look around your league and team pages. Here is a brief look at each of the tabs you'll see at the top of the page, including what you can access by clicking the links inside each of the headings.

My Team

This is where you make lineup changes (by clicking the "MOVE" button), manage your injured list (IR). You can also click "Add Player" to be taken to the page with all available free agents or click "Drop Players" to remove them from your roster.

Prior to your draft, you will see an option to "Edit Draft Strategy," where you can set your pre-draft rankings and your autopick strategy, in the event you are unable to be present for your draft.

There are also tabs just above where your roster appears:

Overview -- Your full roster is here, along with the projection for that week's game, the percentage of ESPN leagues in which the player is started (%ST) and rostered (%ROST).

Stats -- This will show each player's opponent and start time for that week's game, as well as a full statistical breakdown.

Schedule -- This shows the next eight games for each of your players.

News -- If you want the latest news on each of your players, you can find it all in this tab.

Projections -- Wondering what to expect from each player that week? Check out our expert projections and player profiles.

Ranks -- Want to see all of our experts' rankings of the players on your roster in one place? This is the spot. The rankings shown are where that player stands at his position that week.

Team Settings -- Located in the upper right portion, this is where you can personalize your squad with a new team name and a team logo. You can choose a logo we provide or add an image from the web.

League

Home -- This is your league's home page. Among the things you'll find here is the LM note, where your league manager can keep you updated on important league information. You'll also find an overview of recent league activity (like trades, waiver moves, etc.) and league chat, where any manager can post to the league. For some added fun, some leagues also use this space for managers to take turns contributing a recap of the past week's fantasy battles. It's also a choice place to talk smack with your fellow managers. In the right column, you'll see a space for League Manager Polls (where you can have some fun by voting on who has the worst or best team, etc.) and your league standings. Below that, you'll find the latest content from our ESPN Fantasy Football experts, as well as our Fantasy Football help center.

Settings -- There are few things more important to being successful in fantasy than knowing your rules. Be sure to pore over every angle of your league settings to make sure that you understand your roster size/construction, scoring, draft settings and playoff schedule. For a detailed look at the thinking behind each setting click here.

Members -- Do you want to email another manager to ask a question or talk trash? Come to this page, and you'll be able to contact them directly. If you share a team with someone and want to add them as a second manager, you can do that by clicking the "Add 2nd Manager" button to the right of your team.

Rosters -- This is a great place to view the rosters of all teams in your league, especially if you are looking for a trade partner. There is a "Propose Trade" button to click below each team to facilitate matters, as well.

Schedule -- Take a look here to see when you'll play each team in your league, including when you'll square off against your top rivals. There is also a dropdown menu to access the schedule for each team. At the top right of this page, there is an option to view the projected playoff bracket, if you'd like to see where your team stands at that point in time.

Message Board -- If you'd rather post a message to the league page (rather than email them), you can do so here.

Transaction Counter -- This page shows the total of every move made by each team. As a commish, if you see a team has not been keeping their rosters up to date, you may want to give them a nudge to do so, in order to keep the league as fair and competitive as possible. If your league charges for each transaction, those are tallied at the bottom of the page.

Draft Recap -- If you want to see where a specific player was taken on draft day, this is the spot. You are able to look at the round-by-round view or by team.

History -- Once your league enters into its second season (and beyond), you'll see a tally of past winners here, as well as full standings, weekly scores and a draft recap for each year.

Email League -- If you want to send an email to every manager in your league, this is the place to do it.

Keepers -- If you're in a keeper league, this is where you can input your team's keepers, as well as view others' once the deadline has passed.

Recent Activity -- Here you can look at any and all transactions made throughout the league, by using the dropdown menus to specify by type, date range and specific team (if desired).

Players

Add Players -- You can sort players by position, availability (as free agents), NFL team and those on or not on your Watch List. You can also search for players by name. To add a free agent, click on the plus sign to the right of the player's name. If you don't have an open roster spot available, you will be prompted to drop a player from your current roster to make room for the free agent. Click the box next to that player's name and click submit to complete the transaction.

Watch list -- If you want to keep an eye on a free agent during the season, click the flag button by his name in the Player area. He will then appear on your watch list.

Scoring Leaders -- This area will show the top scorers in your league. It is also sortable by position, by available players, and by scoring type, which can be useful if you're in multiple leagues with different scoring settings.

Live Draft Trends -- Prior to your draft is when this is most useful. It shows the average draft position (ADP) for each player, and can be broken down by position as well.

Points Against -- Wondering which NFL teams have been most or least forgiving against specific positions? You can see overall statistical production and fantasy points allowed throughout the season.

Added/Dropped -- This is where you can find the players who have been the most popular additions to rosters in ESPN leagues, as well as those who have been dropped from rosters at the highest rate during the past week.

Player News -- You can find the latest updates on players from around the league here, with the ability to sort for injury news only or by specific NFL team.

Projections -- Wondering what to expect from each player this upcoming season? Check out our expert projections and player profiles.

Waiver Order -- This displays the order in which waiver claims of free agents will be selected, based on your league settings. Whoever is in position No. 1 will get first choice, etc.

Waiver Report -- You'll find a summary of each waiver transaction throughout the season here.

Undroppables -- If your league decided to utilize this feature, you'll see a list of the players who cannot be dropped from rosters in your league, as determined by ESPN Fantasy.

Budget Summary -- For leagues which utilize FAAB, this is where you can see how much money each team has left to spend on free agents.

Offers Report -- Here, you can look at your league's bidding history. This can sometimes be helpful for noting bidding behavior of the other managers in your leagues, which can better inform your bidding decisions going forward.

Stat Corrections -- Each week, the NFL makes adjustments to player stats from the previous week's games, and this is the full listing of those changes. These can impact the fantasy scores in your league, so if you noticed your score changed, it's likely you'll see why here.
