Back Man City to win Carabao Cup and Man United to get the better of Liverpool

Our column correctly tipped Manchester United to beat Chelsea at 13/5 in the FA Cup but incurred a Champions League loss as Liverpool failed to produce against Bayern Munich. A huge weekend coming up as United host Liverpool in the Premier League while Chelsea and Man City contest the Carabao Cup final.

Running total: -£45.07

The Banker

"Sarriball," it seems, is dead. Chelsea have lost five of their last 13 league games and as a result Maurizio Sarri is a boss on the brink. You would have thought that a Wembley Cup final would be a welcome distraction for the beleaguered Italian. Not so if it's against the team that thrashed you 6-0 less than a fortnight ago.

Manchester City are red-hot favourites to win the Carabao Cup and it's hard to make a case against them on current form. City have won this competition four times in the past six seasons and are on a roll at the minute. They have a superior squad and it's worth remembering that this will be Chelsea's fourth game in 10 days. As always, Pep Guardiola will ask his side go out and seize the day (they've scored 24 goals in their last seven games) and the smart money here is on the English champions to win again with something to spare.

Selection: £4 on Manchester City to win and over 2.5 goals at 11/8 with bet365.

The First Goal Flutter

Tottenham's Harry Kane should feature at Turf Moor this weekend after returning to training ahead of schedule. To be fair to Spurs, without him they've won all four league games and thumped Borussia Dortmund 3-0 in the Champions League. However, Kane has bagged 20 goals already this season and looks an inviting price at 13/5 to score first against Burnley.

Selection: £5 on Kane to score first at 13/5 with bet365.

The Tasty Treble

The bookies got it badly wrong by pricing Manchester United up as clear outsiders against Chelsea in the FA Cup, and they may not have learned their lesson as the Red Devils can be backed at 2/1 to beat Liverpool at home this weekend.

Jurgen Klopp's men were comfortable 3-1 winners when the teams met in December but United have hardly looked back since sacking Jose Mourinho after that defeat and will be right up for this. Elsewhere, West Ham have been excellent at home this season -- beating Arsenal and Manchester United -- so look a solid bet at 5/6 when Fulham come to the London Stadium. Fulham are leaking goals and have shipped 12 in their last five away games. Finally, Newcastle can be trusted at 5/6 to beat a seemingly doomed Huddersfield side who've lost 13 of their last 14 matches. The treble looks a cracker and stacks up at better than 9/1.

Selection: £3 on the treble at 9.08/1 with bet365.

The Euro Wager

Inter Milan have been pretty decent away from the San Siro this season (claiming 20 points from 12 Serie A matches) but have struggled against Fiorentina in recent years and it could be worth backing the draw when the teams meet on Sunday evening. La Viola are unbeaten in their last four games at home to Inter and can claim a share of the spoils at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Selection: £2.50 on the draw at 12/5 with bet365.

The Wildcard Tip

Leicester City are favourites when they host Crystal Palace on Saturday, though it's not really clear if they deserve to be. Palace are unbeaten in their last five games in all competitions while City have taken just one point from the last 15 available. It's also worth noting that Palace have won their last three against the Foxes so Roy Hodgson's men rate as a decent outside punt at the King Power.

Selection: £2 on Crystal Palace to win and both teams to score at 6/1 with bet365.
