England face sterner test in Montenegro after five-star win over Czechs

The Banker bet landed again as England kept another clean sheet when beating the Czech Republic on Friday evening, but the Dutch let us down as they were beaten 3-2 by Germany on Sunday. Qualifying for Euro 2020 continues this week and we've got all the best betting angles covered.

Running total: -£68.30

The Banker

England are 1/3 favourites with bet365 to beat Montenegro on Monday evening but backers should be warned before piling in that the Three Lions don't have the best record in Podgorica. England have drawn three of their four previous meetings with Montenegro, including two draws on away soil. Gareth Southgate's men produced a five-star showing against the Czechs on Friday night, a game that highlighted the fact that Raheem Sterling is now transferring his Manchester City form to the international stage. There is so much attacking variety in this England side, but they may have to be patient against a well-drilled outfit. They won't have things all their own way in this one, even though Montenegro have won just one of their last six international matches played at home. England will have to play with a bit more discipline away from Wembley and it wouldn't be a huge shock if they had to wait until the second half before finding a way through.

Selection: £4 on Draw - England double result at 5/2 with bet365.

The First Goal Flutter

Sterling has now scored five times for England in his last three games but despite this he is still available at 11/2 to score first with bet365. The 24-year-old linked up brilliantly with the precocious Jadon Sancho last time out and has the pace to cause Montenegro all manner of problems in Podgorica.

Selection: £2 on Sterling to score first at 11/2 with bet365.

The Tasty Treble

Republic of Ireland laboured to a 1-0 win over Gibraltar on Saturday and could struggle again on Tuesday. It was a poor performance against a team who had shipped 10 goals in their last two competitive games going in and for this reason the draw could be worth a punt at 14/5 when the Irish host Georgia in Dublin. Elsewhere France got their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign off to an impressive start on Friday and they have enough quality to cover a one-goal handicap when they host Iceland this week. Paul Pogba was excellent once again for Les Bleus in Moldova and 8/15 looks fair enough about them beating Iceland by more than a goal. Finally add in Brazil who are 1/3 to beat a bang average Czech Republic side on Tuesday night. The Selecao will be after a response after that hugely disappointing 1-1 draw with Panama over the weekend and should be too good for the Czechs. The treble is paying just over 13/2 with bet365.

Selection: £2 on the treble at 6.76/1 with bet365.

The Euro Wager

Alvaro Morata endured a torrid time at Chelsea but his form has picked up since moving back to his homeland with Atletico Madrid and he could be the bet at 9/4 to score first when Spain visit Malta on Tuesday. La Roja have won their last nine European Championship qualifiers and should beat Group F outsiders Malta fairly convincingly.

Selection: £2 on Morata to score first at 9/4 with bet365.

The Wildcard Tip

There's a Scandinavian derby on Tuesday when Norway face Sweden in Oslo. Norway are on a seven-match winning streak on home soil and did not disgrace themselves in losing 2-1 to Spain last time out. It should be a tight encounter and with this in mind a 1-0 victory for Lars Lagerback's men can be backed at 11/2 with bet365.

Selection: £2 on Norway to win 1-0 at 11/2 with bet365.
