Cristiano Ronaldo handed Juventus No. 7 shirt by Juan Cuadrado

Following the recent arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo, Juan Cuadrado has magnanimously agreed to vacate his shirt number at Juventus to allow the new €100 million man to wear his trademark No.7.

Cuadrado had held the No.7 shirt at the Bianconeri for the past two seasons but has now graciously stepped aside to allow the incoming superstar to take over.

"It is better to give than to receive," the Colombian winger said, holding Ronaldo's new shirt aloft in an Instagram post. "Blessings to Cristiano in this new adventure."

Juve have confirmed that Cuadrado will revert to the No.16 jersey he was originally assigned when he first joined the club on loan from Chelsea back in 2015-16.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo's former teammate Marcelo wrote an emotional goodbye message on social media.

"Who would say [you were going to leave] Cris!," he wrote. "It's time to tell you see you soon... "I swear I did not imagine that this day would come! But nothing in this life is forever, I hope you will be very happy in your new path.

"It's been almost 10 years by your side, 10 years of joy, good football, victories, defeats and wonderful moments! I have learned a lot from you, your dedication is the most bizarre thing I saw in an athlete. (I wish) the best for you and Your beautiful family!

"I will miss our talks before the games, when you got the results right and when, before the finals, you reassured us with your experience and the love you gave to the youngest players! I am proud to have played with you, not because you are THE BEST PLAYER but because of the person you are. When I stop playing I will sit at the bar to have a beer, I will tell several stories (about you) and I will show all our photos. Goodbye, # M12."
