Belarus unveil giant, sword-swinging robot mascot named Vayar

Belarus have unveiled the new mascot they are hoping will help inspire their national football team to future glory.

That said, the Belarusian Football Federation (BFF) are obviously hoping to do so by petrifying everybody who lays eyes upon 'Vayar" -- their mighty new eight-foot tall, sword-swinging robot talisman.

As well as looking like Optimus Prime's cousin, Vayar also wields an enormous blade that is decorated with the national ornament of Belarus (the red and white geometric pattern visible on their flag).

The suit design is also reported to be partially inspired by the nickname of the national side: the White Wings.

Regardless, with Vayar in charge of intimidating all future opponents, we foresee Belarus starting to creep up the FIFA world rankings very soon.
