Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the Whisper.

Here are today's top five emerging whispers. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.

Ramiro Funes Mori to Lazio

Lazio are showing a keen interest in Everton defender Funes Mori who, according to Sport Mediaset, is viewed as one of the leading candidates to replace the departing Stefan de Vrij. The Dutchman is letting his contract run down and will walk away as a free agent this summer with Lazio needing a stellar replacement. Funes Mori is seen as exactly that despite his injury struggles, and the Italian side have already been in contact over a move.

Piotr Zielinski to Liverpool

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp will go back into the transfer market for Zielinski after failing to land the Pole before he joined Napoli in 2016. The 23-year-old has only made 10 appearances in Serie A this season and according to The Sun, Klopp believes he could be prised away. The German is keen to bolster his midfield options ahead of next season and despite the impending arrival of Naby Kieta, still wants more additions, especially with Emre Can's future still up in the air. Napoli's price-tag of £57 million for Zielinski, who has a contract until 2021, could be a stumbling block and Liverpool would seek to bring that down.

David Neres to Inter Milan

Italian giants Milan have been joined in the race for Ajax's young starlet by rivals Inter, according to Sport Mediaset, news which will not please Gennaro Gattuso's side. Neres has impressed this season with Ajax, netting 11 goals in 28 appearances. The winger has been watched by Milan for several weeks and they have already made their interest known to the Dutch club, but financial issues could hold any deal up. Inter, meanwhile, will wait until the end of the season before opening any negotiations.

Bryan Cristante to Tottenham

Tottenham are scouring the market for midfielders in an effort to boost their squad ahead of next season and Cristante, according to The Daily Mirror, is one of the leading names. The 23-year-old has shone for Atalanta in Serie A, where he is on loan from Benfica, and Spurs could move for the Italian who offers plenty of playmaking ability. He has scored eight goals from midfield this season and with the future of Moussa Dembele unclear, Spurs have identified Cristante as a transfer target.

Gianluigi Buffon to Boca Juniors

Carlos Tevez could offer Juventus keeper Buffon a chance to extend his career. The Argentine striker has been tasked with tempting the Italian legend to Boca Juniors, according to Radio Continental. Tevez is close with Buffon having spent two years together at Juventus and Boca believe the goalkeeper would be an excellent addition in their push for a Copa Libertadores crown. A World Cup winner with Italy in 2006, Buffon has still yet to make a decision on his future, dropping hints he could play on well into his 40s.
