Transfer Talk: Liverpool knock back links with Paris Saint-Germain's Adrien Rabiot

The transfer window in all of Europe's big five leagues is now closed, but that doesn't stop Transfer Talk from rummaging through the remains of the summer window to scrounge up the earliest bit of gossip about who will be moving where come January.

Liverpool uninterested in contract rebel Rabiot

Despite reports linking them to Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot, Liverpool have no interest in acquiring the France international, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The 23-year-old has less than 12 months remaining on his contract at the Parc des Princes, meaning the Merseyside outfit could sign him to a pre-contract this January ahead of a free transfer next summer. Of course, this isn't the first time Rabiot has found himself in such a situation: Four years ago, he too flirted with a free transfer to the Premier League, before signing a four-year extension with PSG in January of 2015.

But if he is to wait for a free transfer to the Premier League this summer, Anfield reportedly won't be his destination. The report states that Jurgen Klopp is perfectly content with his midfield options, especially having spent more than £100 million on Naby Keita and Fabinho in the summer.

Rabiot could always convince Klopp otherwise on the pitch: PSG and Liverpool will meet twice in this fall's Champions League group stage.

Barca, Chelsea track Fulham teen

Harvey Elliott won't turn 16 until the final few weeks of the Premier League season, but already he's been invited to train with Fulham's first team. With FA rules dictating that a scholarship cannot be discussed until January and a professional contract some 18 months away, some of Europe's biggest clubs are angling to snap up the midfielder.

The London Evening Standard reports that Chelsea and Barcelona head the pack of interested parties, but also note that Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund are hopeful of poaching the England Under-15 international.

Fulham, for their part, are hopeful that their fast-tracking of Ryan Sessegnon - who played a vital role in the Cottagers' promotion to the Premier League, and has featured in all five of their competitive fixtures so far this season, including three starts - can be an example to Elliott that he will receive opportunities to play with the West London club.

Man United scout Cruz Azul youngster in Houston

Cruz Azul breakout star Roberto Alvarado has caught the eye of Manchester United, according to Mexican outlet Esto.

The report says Manchester United has a scout in Houston to watch Alvarado in Mexico's friendly against Uruguay, where the 20-year-old is set to make his national team debut.

With two goals and three assists in this year's Apertura, the attack-minded midfielder has been influential in a Cruz Azul side that is at top of the Liga MX table.
