Goalless draw hits Elgin play-off hopes

Elgin slipped out of the promotion play-off zone in the Ladbrokes Scottish League Two table after a disappointing goalless draw at Stirling. Lewis McLear came close to giving the home side the perfect start, but struck the post with his effort, while at the other end, Stirling striker Steven Doris turned stopper as he cleared a Jamie Duff header off his own line.The Binos reasserted themselves, and Sean Dickson forced City goalkeeper Mark Hurst into a spectacular save.After the break, Darren Smith made a burst through the middle for the hosts but fired just wide, and in a nip-and-tuck battle Daniel Moore had the final chance for City, but dragged his shot wide.

Stirling battle back to claim point at Queen's Park

Steven Doris scored his 12th goal of the season in all competitions as Stirling held Queen's Park to a 1-1 draw.The hosts had a brilliant opportunity to break the deadlock when they were awarded a penalty in the 27th minute after Paul Woods was brought down by Stirling goalkeeper Chris Smith.But Smith made amends for conceding the penalty, keeping out Woods' spot-kick before saving the rebound to keep the scores level.Queen's Park found themselves in front two minutes before the break when Chris Duggan made the most of a mistake from Ross Forsyth to charge forward and fire his team ahead.The Binos levelled things up in the 63rd minute when Doris found the bottom corner of William Muir's net from the middle of the box.

Stirling pile more misery on East Stirling

Stirling secured local bragging rights and deepened East Stirling's Scottish League Two relegation fears with a 3-0 triumph at Forthbank Stadium.Moses Olanrewaju gave East Stirling keeper Darren Dolan no chance as he found the top-right corner from close range in the 17th minute to open the scoring.Darren Smith then put the result beyond doubt after 64 minutes with a neat finish before Philip Johnston completed the scoring late on.East Stirling are now 10 points adrift at the bottom of the table after a fifth successive defeat while Stirling remain sixth, seven points adrift of a play-off place.

Nathan Austin shines as East Fife hit Stirling for six

East Fife stayed top of Ladbrokes League Two thanks to a 6-0 demolition of hosts Stirling.Substitute Nathan Austin, a doubt before the game, grabbed two goals after the break to go clear as the league's leading scorer with 21.Ross Brown gave the Fifers an early lead, following up after Chris Smith brilliantly saved his initial shot.Kevin Smith doubled the advantage in the 16th minute, although his volley took a big deflection before looping in.The league leaders were looking comfortable and the third goal arrived when Kyle Wilkie played Austin through to slot past the keeper.Five minutes later Austin was at it again with a back-post header after great work from Kevin Smith.It was 5-0 when Stevie Campbell waltzed through the home defence to score late on.Ali Coote soon made it six from close range, finishing off from Kevin Smith's cross.

Stirling pay penalty as fast-starting Berwick cling on

Stirling missed a penalty in stoppage time as 10-man Berwick held on to record a 1-0 victory.The hosts went ahead after 24 seconds when Blair Henderson got on the end of Michael McKenna's cross before slotting in from close range.Stirling pushed for an equaliser in the second half and came close to getting one when Steven Doris sent the ball across the face of goal towards Moses Olanrewaju, but the substitute's effort was superbly blocked by Johnny Fairbairn.There was late drama as Stirling were awarded a penalty in the second minute of added time after Brian Martin handled in the area.Martin was given his marching orders, but Stirling were unable to equalise, with Sean Dickson missing from the spot.

Late drama as Brian Cameron is spot on for Elgin

Brian Cameron scored a last-gasp penalty as Elgin climbed above East Fife at the top of Ladbrokes League Two with a 2-1 win over Stirling.The visitors should have opened the scoring in the 12th minute but Craig Beattie fired his effort over the crossbar.And they were made to pay just a minute later as Marc McKenzie played in Craig Gunn, who picked his spot into the bottom corner.Stirling refused to let their heads drop, though, and they were back on level terms in the 29th minute through Ross McGeachie's close-range header.The game looked to be heading for a draw but the hosts were awarded a penalty in the third minute of added time and Cameron stepped up to clinch all three points for his side.
