CSKA Moscow hit by UEFA charges after Arsenal game in Europa League

CSKA Moscow have been hit by three UEFA charges following their Europa League quarter-final against Arsenal on Thursday.

UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against the Russian club following the 2-2 second-leg draw at the VEB Arena.

CSKA have been charged with the setting off of fireworks and the throwing of objects in contravention of UEFA's disciplinary regulations.

The Russians have also been charged with blocking stairways in contravention of UEFA's safety and security regulations.

This case will be dealt with by UEFA's control, ethics and disciplinary body on May 31.

Danny Welbeck and Aaron Ramsey scored late goals in Moscow for Arsenal to win the tie 6-3 on aggregate and set up a semi-final meeting with Spain's Atletico Madrid.
