Inter Milan's Mauro Icardi increasing in value - agent, wife Wanda Nara

Mauro Icardi's wife and agent Wanda Nara says that the Inter Milan forward is "increasing in value by the day" as she seeks an improved contract for the 25-year-old.

Icardi's four goals against Sampdoria on Sunday took him beyond a century of goals in Serie A -- 103 in 180 appearances -- and up to 22 in 24 this season.

Nara represents her husband, whose contract with the Nerazzurri still has over three years to run on it, and she says his next contract is going to have to be a greater reflection of his worth to the club, although she says she is not putting any pressure on the Serie A club.

"When you renew, you do so to improve the current situation, but we've not yet thought about conditions or figures," she told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "Mauro lets his actions speak louder than words. We're very relaxed about [a new contract]. We're confident about a renewal and when I see the sporting director at the stadium, we laugh and joke about it.

"Sometimes I tell him that he's increasing in value by the day, but there's serenity and no tension in the air."

Icardi has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, but Nara insists he is happy in Milan and she has not brought up the subject of a new contract to spark transfer speculation.

"He was desperate to score his 100th goal [in Serie A] because you can't erase history, and he also wanted it for the fans. He's the first Inter fan, so he knows very well what it means," Nara said.

"I can't predict the future, but what I can say is that we like the Zhang family [Inter's owners], They are determined to make Inter grow and return to being a great club. We stayed here this season even without the Champions League, but clearly we would like [to be in] it."

Icardi also stressed how happy he is to be Inter's captain, telling Italian magazine Undici on Monday that "being Inter's captain is like my mission, and I am proud of all this -- especially being Interista, because I'm Interista."

Icardi's contract has a release clause of €110 million which, at current market prices, would not price him out of a move in the summer, even though he reaffirmed that a transfer is the last thing on his mind.

"After what happened in the last transfer window, maybe you're right [that €110m is too low]. This clause is something we discussed with the club and it was decided to put it in, but the club know what I think and what I want, and we're all very relaxed."
