Bayern Munich have invited 15-year-old Martin Odegaard for a second trial, while they believe they have a good chance of winning the race to sign the midfielder.
Odegaard currently plays for Norwegian outfit Stromsgodset, where he is still under contract until the end of 2015.
However, the Norway international, who made history when he became the youngest player ever to appear in a European Championship qualifier at the age of 15 years and 300 days last month, has consistently been linked with a move to one of Europe's big leagues.
His rise to prominence has resulted in Barcelona, Real Madrid, Ajax, Manchester United, Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern all having been credited with an interest in him.
"Some 20 to 30 scouts are at every game. Since May, there has only been two days without interest from either clubs or agents," Hans Erik Odegaard, the player's father and agent, told Sport Bild last week.
The player himself, meanwhile, has confirmed that Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp showed him around the Westfalenstadion earlier this year.
However, he has also trained with most of the other clubs reportedly chasing his signature, and has now been invited for a second trial at Bayern.
"Martin feels in good hands at FC Bayern," Bayern scout Bjorn Andersson told Sport Bild, adding that he is in contact with Odegaard's father.
Andersson also allayed fears that a move to Bayern in the near future would come too early for the player and stunt his development.
"I have seen the likes of [Cristiano] Ronaldo, [Andres] Iniesta, and [Wayne] Rooney when they were 16. All of them needed to dare to take the step to get where they are now," Andersson, who played for Bayern from 1974 to 1977, said.
"Martin gets recognised much faster these days. And that's why we have to do what we do."
