“There is no enquiry for Drmic,” Nuernberg sporting director Martin Bader has told Bild, dispelling rumours that Switzerland international Drmic will leave the Bundesliga club after only one season.

Drmic has impressed in Germany this campaign, scoring 16 goals for Nuernberg – as many goals as Dortmund’s Robert Lewandowski and only one less than Bayern Munich’s Mario Mandzukic, who currently tops the division's scorer charts.

His form has led to rumours of interest from a number of clubs, including Premier League side Arsenal.

At the weekend, former Germany international Lothar Matthaeus claimed that the Arsenal deal is all but done, alleging that Drmic’s wife is already looking for a flat in London.

While Drmic said that he is currently single, the forward added that “every lad dreams of joining Arsenal.”

On Tuesday, Nuernberg sporting director Martin Bader said the player is not thinking about leaving the club, but is only focused on securing the side's top-flight status, as they reside 15th in the table.

“There is no enquiry for Drmic,” Bader said. “That’s only speculation. Josip is fully focused on the relegation battle.”
