Israel stay hot with dominant win over nine-man Albania
Israel stayed hot on the heels of Spain and Italy in FIFA European World Cup Qualifying Group G with a 3-0 victory over nine-man Albania.
With Spain and Italy -- the 2010 and 2006 World Cup winners respectively -- winning on Saturday, Israel remained a point behind both.
The visitors led through an 18th-minute Eran Zahavi penalty after Berat Djimsiti was dismissed for fouling Zahavi.
On 55 minutes Zahavi was fouled in the area again -- by Etrit Berisha who also saw red -- but the midfielder's second spot-kick was saved.
Dan Einbinder's left-footed volley doubled the lead 11 minutes later before substitute Eliran Atar completed the scoring with seven minutes to go.
