Sons pay the penalty

Dumbarton paid the price for missing a stoppage-time penalty as the Scottish Championship side were beaten 1-0 by League Two Queen's Park after extra-time in their Petrofac Training Cup second-round clash. The referee pointed to the penalty spot two minutes into time added on when substitute Steven Craig was tripped in the area but Garry Fleming fired his kick high and wide. That sent the match into extra-time and Queen's Park needed only four minutes of it to snatch the lead as Joe Bradley fired home from Vincent Berry's assist.Dumbarton had their chances to level it but Fleming wasted further chances, heading over in the 102nd minute and then blazing a shot too high just after the interval. With barely 60 seconds remaining Gregor Buchanan headed goalwards but William Muir held the ball as Queen's Park completed the upset.
