Amiens secure Ligue 1 survival in draw with Paris Saint-Germain

Amiens ensured they will be playing Ligue 1 football again next season after drawing 2-2 with champions Paris St Germain at the Stade de la Licorne on Friday night.

The hosts twice came from behind with goals from Moussa Konate to earn the point that they needed to guarantee survival and denied PSG the chance to reach the 100-point mark this season in the process.

Edinson Cavani gave PSG the half-time lead only for Konate to equalise early in the second half.

Christopher Nkunku restored the lead after 64 minutes but Konate levelled things up again with 10 minutes remaining.

PSG head into the Coupe de France final on Tuesday on the back of a couple of disappointing displays in 2-2 draws with Guingamp and Amiens.

But things looked brighter when Cavani latched on to Javier Pastore's defence-splitting through-ball to score after 26 minutes.

Fine saves from Jean-Christophe Bouet denied Nkunku and Angel Di Maria as PSG looked likely to score a second goal.

However, Amiens survived until the break and were level after 47 minutes when Konate's shot across Alphonse Areola found the back of the net.

Nkunku's lovely curling effort put the visitors back in front but Konate made it 2-2, with PSG goalkeeper Areola making a huge error in diving over the ball and allowing Konate to score.

Cavani thought he had nicked it late on but his volley was cleared off the line by Bakaye Dibassy.
