Dijon FCO 2-1 Stade Rennes

Dijon helped ease their relegation worries with a much-needed 2-1 victory against Rennes.Thrashed 8-0 at Paris St Germain this month and then beaten at Strasbourg last weekend, Dijon had slipped to within three points of the drop zone in Ligue 1 but their form at home has been solid.Only PSG, St Etienne and Monaco have won league games this season at Stade Gaston Gerard and Dijon recorded a seventh home victory of the campaign on Friday night.Florent Balmont opened the scoring after half an hour with his first goal for the club since arriving from Lille in the summer of 2016 but Ismaila Sarr ensured the teams went into the break level when he equalised four minutes before half-time.Rennes would have gone up to fifth place in the table with a victory and they had chances to edge ahead but were punished when Julio Tavares nipped in the score his sixth goal of the season after 65 minutes to win it for the hosts.
