Sebastian Saucedo goal pushes Real Salt Lake past Seattle Sounders

SEATTLE -- Sebastian Saucedo's goal in the 61st minute helped Real Salt Lake to a 1-0 victory over the Seattle Sounders on Saturday.

Saucedo collected his first goal of the season when, after receiving Danilo Acosta's cross-field ball on the left, the 21-year-old midfielder cut inside and sent a rising shot that beat goalkeeper Stefan Frei, who could only get a slight touch, to the top corner.

The Sounders nearly tied the match three minutes after Saucedo's goal, however.

Magnus Wolff Eikrem sent a free kick from the right side into the box. It was headed toward Lamar Neagle whose header from the top of the six-yard box nearly dipped under the crossbar before RSL goalkeeper Nick Rimando topped it over and out of play.

Rimando recorded his third shutout of the season. Seattle has been blanked seven times in 10 games this this campaign.
