Sergio Santos on fire as Philadelphia Union hit six past hapless New England Revolution

Sergio Santos scored two of Philadelphia's five second-half goals, and the Union extended their unbeaten streak to four games Saturday with an easy 6-1 victory over the visiting New England Revolution.

Jack Elliott, Ilsinho, Kacper Przybylko and David Accam also scored goals for the Union, who who improved to 6-3-2 and remained atop the Eastern Conference with 20 points. It was the Union's highest-scoring game since the final match of the 2017 season.

Juan Fernando Caicedo scored a goal for the Revolution, who lost for the second time in three games and the fourth time in six. They were unable to finish off chances one game after scoring a season-high four goals in a draw at Sporting Kansas City.

Santos, who was signed this past offseason after playing the last five seasons for Audax Italiano in Chile, scored his first two goals for the Union just five minutes apart.

Santos' first gave the Union a 3-1 lead in the 69th minute, when he got a slight touch on a centering pass from Kai Wagner to score through goalkeeper Cody Cropper. The second for the Brazil native came when he scored on a rebound of a shot from Przybylko for a 4-1 lead.

Przybylko did not have to wait long for another chance to finish, scoring from just out front in the 82nd minute on a pass from Alejandro Bedoya. It was the third goal in three starts for Przybylko, a forward from Germany, who missed time early the season with a broken toe.

Santos nearly had a hat trick in the 88th minute but was stopped by Cropper from point-blank range. Accam was able to score seconds later on a rebound from yet another shot from Santos.

The Union have just one loss (6-1-1) in their past nine games and earned their fifth consecutive home victory. Cropper finished with nine saves, as Philadelphia peppered 15 shots on goal. Union keeper Carlos made three saves.

Elliott opened the scoring in the 11th minute before Caicedo leveled it in the 35th. Ilsinho put the Union ahead in the 47th minute to begin the second-half onslaught.
