A hat trick from Bipin Singh and a brace from Bartholomew Ogbeche helped Mumbai City FC thrash bottom-placed Odisha 6-1 in the Indian Super League (ISL) on Wednesday. The win set up a knockout clash for the top spot when Mumbai face leaders ATK Mohun Bagan on Sunday. Mumbai will finish on top if they beat ATKMB based on their superior Head-to-Head.

Odisha took a surprise lead in the 9th minute when Jerry Mawihmingthanga was brought down in the box before Diego Mauricio converted from the spot. Ogbeche then gave Mumbai a deserving equaliser in the 13th minute with a header from an Ahmed Jahouh set piece.

Mumbai were relentless after scoring their first, and Bipin soon gave them the lead with a left footed shot from close range. Ogbeche would score his second just before half time, with another header from close range during a corner routine. Cy Goddard's spectacular strike two minutes later virtually ended the contest even before the break.

Bipin scored his second with a spectacular effort from the edge of the box soon after the restart to make it five. He could have had a hat trick in the 84th minute when Mumbai were awarded a penalty after a foul on Vikram Singh inside the box. But Ahmed Jahouh decided to take the spot kick, before being denied by Arshdeep Singh.

But Bipin did get his hat trick just minutes later - - the season's first for any player --  getting at the end of a rebound after Rowllin Borges' initial shot was saved.
