Giovani Lo Celso delighted to have joined PSG from Rosario Central

New Paris Saint-Germain signing Giovani Lo Celso has said he is happy to have joined the French champions, adding that "everything went very well."

Lo Celso, 20, moved to PSG from Rosario Central on a five-year contract but will remain on loan with the Argentine club until the end of December.

The midfielder, who represented Argentina at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, told reporters in South America: "Honestly, everything went very well [with the move to PSG].

"I was very well received. I went there to conclude the final details, and then I came back.

"As I have said all along, I will always be grateful to the club [Rosario Central], to my coach, to the club's leaders, and I want to take maximum advantage while I am here with my teammates and boss.

"My family have accompanied my every step of the way and supported the decision that I have taken."

Big things are expected of Lo Celso, and PSG CEO Nasser Al-Khelaifi told the club's official website he was delighted to have secured the signature of a rising star.

"I am looking forward to welcoming him to PSG," he said. "He is one of the most promising young Argentine players, and his arrival in a few months will maintain the very special link between the club and South American football."

He said Lo Celso had "made a very strong decision in choosing Paris" and added: "Just like our other new arrivals, I'm certain he will be quickly adopted and loved by our supporters."
