Genk's Leon Bailey undergoing medical with Bayer Leverkusen - Roger Schmidt

Bayer Leverkusen coach Roger Schmidt has confirmed that Leon Bailey is undergoing a medical with the club ahead of his move from Genk.

Bailey, 19, has been linked with a host of European clubs, including Manchester United, after scoring four goals in six Europa League appearances for his side this term.

Schmidt revealed earlier this week that Leverkusen were interested in signing the Jamaican, and he has now said that the German club are closing in on a move for the Genk winger.

"Leon Bailey is currently undergoing his medical," Schmidt told a news conference. "The chances of him joining us are not inconsiderable."

Schmidt previously said on Monday: "He's got a lot of pace, he's technically skilled, and someone we are looking at in the long run."

Bailey was not called up to Genk's matchday squad against KV Kortrijk on Monday, and Belgium newspaper HLN reported that the player had a "personal agreement" with Leverkusen, who needed to decide whether they wanted to invest €20 million in the highly rated youngster.
