Real Madrid's Achraf Hakimi closing in on Borussia Dortmund loan

Morocco's Achraf Hakimi appears to be closing in on a loan move to Borussia Dortmund, according to reports in the German media.

Bild have reported that the full-back is primed to join the Bundesliga heavyweights on a two-year loan deal.

He featured nine times for Los Merengues last season, primarily standing in as a replacement for Dani Carvajal when the latter was injured.

However, Real's signing of Spanish right-back Alvaro Odriozola from Real Sociedad places another obstacle in Hakimi's path, with the 22-year-old set to understudy Carvajal.

Odriozola's arrival pushes the 19-year-old Hakimi, a favourite of former Real manager Zinedine Zidane, closer to the exit door.

Only the agreement of personal terms stand between Hakimi and Dortmund, with Los Blancos understood to be keen for the North African to feature regularly in a major European league before returning to Madrid a stronger player.

Hakimi featured three times for Morocco at the World Cup as they fell in the group stage, having taken one point from their games against Iran, Portugal and Spain.
