Courtois relaxed about Real Madrid future despite wait to play under Zidane - sources

Thibaut Courtois is happy at Real Madrid and relaxed about his long-term future at the Bernabeu, sources have told ESPN FC.

Reports in Spain had suggested that the former Chelsea goalkeeper could leave after coach Zinedine Zidane picked Keylor Navas having won a behind-the-scenes battle with president Florentino Perez.

But sources told ESPN FC that Belgium international Courtois is not aware of any tensions and does not believe that Madrid would have signed him only to change their minds 12 months later.

Nobody has told Courtois, who joined from Chelsea last summer and is under contract until 2024, of any plans to sell him.

The keeper, who has recovered from recent injury problems, is available to play for the first time under Zidane in Thursday's game at Getafe.

He was first choice under previous coaches Julen Lopetegui and Santi Solari, but has not played since Zidane returned in March.

The coach, whose son Luca, 20, was given a start in the home win over Huesca, said on Wednesday that "anything could happen" in the summer as far as the goalkeeping position was concerned.

Costa Rica international Navas has previously suggested that he would consider his future if not playing regularly next season.
