How the A-League's 60-point club fared

WHAT HAPPENED NEXT FOR THE A-LEAGUE TEAMS WHO NOTCHED OVER 60 POINTS IN A SINGLE SEASON

BRISBANE 2010-11 - 65 points from 30 games

After losing just one match from 30 in a dominant regular season, Ange Postecoglu's Roar qualified for the grand final with a defeat of Central Coast in a two-legged semi-final. The Roar trailed 2-0 to the Mariners in extra-time of the grand final two weeks later before they scored twice in the dying minutes before they claimed the championship in a penalty shootout.

SYDNEY 2016-17 - 66 points from 27 games

After they secured a record 20 wins in the regular season to eclipse Brisbane's record points tally, Sydney thrashed Perth 3-0 in the semi-finals before they fought back from one goal down in the grand final against Melbourne Victory to seal the championship with a 4-2 penalty shootout win.

SYDNEY 2017-18 - 64 points from 27 games

After again recording 20 wins in the regular season to secure back-to-back Premiers Plates, the Sky Blues were heavily tipped to claim consecutive championships. Melbourne Victory gained revenge for the previous year's grand final loss, however, with a 3-2 semi-final win after extra time to end Graham Arnold's four-year tenure as Sydney coach.
