Dundee United goalkeeper Cammy Bell saves hat trick of penalties

Dundee United may well have beaten Dunfermline 3-1 in the Scottish Championship, but they couldn't have done it without a truly heroic performance from their goalkeeper Cammy Bell.

By the time the half-time whistle sounded, Bell had saved not one, not two, but three Dunfermline penalties to ensure the Tangerines went in at the break 1-0 up.

Bell had already repelled one attempt by the time Simon Murray opened the scoring in the 21st minute, then he thwarted both Nicky Clark and Paul McMullan from the spot before the interval.

United were even reduced to 10 men on the hour mark but still managed to hold on for the win, thanks in no small part to a brilliantly resolute performance from their 'keeper.

The win bumped Bell's boys up to fourth in the table with Dunfermline dropping down to eighth.
