Brown's 6 treys lead Furman over Western Carolina 78-55

CULLOWHEE, N.C. -- Andrew Brown made six 3-pointers and finished with 22 points to lead Furman to a 78-55 victory over Western Carolina on Friday night for its fifth straight win.

Furman (21-9, 12-5 Southern Conference) will finish no better than third place in the conference standings behind UNC Greensboro and East Tennessee State (both 14-3). The Paladins conclude the regular season against ETSU on Sunday.

Western Carolina (12-18, 7-10) has lost five in a row.

Brown was 8 of 11 from the field. Devin Sibley added 11 points for Furman, which shot 31 of 57 (54 percent) from the floor and had 11 players score.

Mike Amius scored 13 points and Marc Gosselin had 11 to lead Western Carolina.

Alex Hunter and Brown each hit a 3 to cap a 29-11 opening run for the Paladins. Western Carolina cut the deficit to 11 points late in the first half but didn't get closer.
