Amigo scores 20 points, Denver holds off Oral Roberts 73-64

TULSA, Okla. -- Daniel Amigo scored 20 points and Ade Murkey hit four free throws in the final minute as Denver held off Oral Roberts, 73-64 in a Summit League battle on Saturday night.

The Pioneers held a nine-point lead at intermission, 34-25, but Oral Roberts scrambled back in the second half, pulling even midway through the period, 50-50, but Denver never surrendered the lead. After Albert Owens tied the game on a layup with 9:28 left, Amigo answered with a layup and a jumper and Jake Pemberton added two free throws to make it a six-point game.

Joe Rosga and Pemberton each added 13 points for Denver (8-12, 2-4). The Pioneers shot 57.4 percent from the field (27 of 47) and hit 7 of 12 from behind the arc.

Oral Roberts (7-15, 3-34 was 25 of 55 from the floor (45.5 percent) and 8 of 26 from distance. Austin Ruder finished with 16 points while Sam Kearns, Emmanuel Nzekwesi and Owens each added 10 points.
