Foster leads Albany to 71-54 win over Binghamton

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Alex Foster had a career-best 15 points while pulling down 10 rebounds as Albany ran past Binghamton 71-54 on Tuesday night.

Greig Stire also recorded a double-double as he totaled 11 points with 12 rebounds. Joe Cremo added 13 points with nine assists and David Nichols finished with 10 points as the Great Danes dominated the boards, 45-30.

Albany (22-9, 10-6), which finished in fourth place in the American East Conference, will host No. 5 seed Stony Brook on Saturday to start tournament action.

Albany trailed briefly in the first half before taking control to go into the break with a 37-29 advantage. Binghamton closed to 37-35 after a Fard Muhammad layup but the Great Danes responded with an 11-1 spurt to lead 48-36 at the 12:37 mark. They maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the way.

Willie Rodriguez had 16 points to lead Binghamton (11-20, 2-14). Rodriguez ended his Binghamton career with school-records of 1,391 points and 654 rebounds.
