Goodwin hits 5 3-pointers; E. Illinois beats UT Martin 64-57

MARTIN, Tenn. -- Montell Goodwin made five 3-pointers and scored 18 points to lead Eastern Illinois to a 64-57 victory over Tennessee-Martin on Saturday night.

Goodwin was 5-of-14 shooting, all from long range. Ray Crossland and Muusa Dama added 12 points apiece for Eastern Illinois (10-17, 6-10 Ohio Valley Conference). D'Angelo Jackson chipped in six points and a game-high 10 rebounds.

Matthew Butler scored 18 points and Fatodd Lewis had 11 points and four steals for UT Martin (9-20, 4-12), which has lost six of its last seven games.

Goodwin scored 12 points and Crossland added 11 in the first half as the Panthers built a 36-26 halftime lead.

Eastern Illinois made nine 3-pointers and outrebounded the Skyhawks 36-27. UT Martin tied it at 54 with 4:11 to play, but Dama answered with a dunk and the Panthers closed on a 10-3 run.
