North Dakota defeats Weber St 89-79 for 2nd straight win

GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- Geno Crandall poured in 25 points on 10 of 16 shooting and dished eight assists as North Dakota defeated Weber State 89-79 on Saturday as the defending Big Sky champion has won two in a row after going winless for a month.

Weber State (10-7, 3-2) trailed by nine at the break, but started the second half shooting 10-for-13 and cutting North Dakota's lead to 55-53 by the 11:26 mark.

Marlon Stewart and Crandall each scored twice in an 11-5 burst that pushed the lead to 66-58 before North Dakota (6-11, 2-4) closed out the final four minutes on a 14-8 run. Before the last two Big Sky games, the Fighting Hawks had not won since Nov. 28.

Crandall scored 16 points after halftime. Kienan Walter added 16, Cortez Seales 15 and Stewart 14 points for the Fighting Hawks.

Jerrick Harding scored 22 points to lead the Wildcats, Michal Kozak added 18 and Ryan Richardson 13.
