Pusica with 23 points, Northeastern beats Towson 77-62

TOWSON, Md. -- Vasa Pusica scored 23 points with four rebounds and four assists and Northeastern notched its third-straight win, beating Towson 77-62 on Saturday.

Pusica was 7 of 10 from the field including four from distance for the Huskies (17-9, 10-4 Colonial Athletic Conference) who are in second place behind Charleston in the conference. Devon Begley added 14 points, eight rebounds and three steals and Bolden Brace chipped in 10 points.

Begley sank a pair of 3-pointers to cap a 17-10 start for the Huskies and they led the rest of the way to a 35-24 advantage at intermission.

Towson closed to 59-53 with 7:47 to play but Brace answered with a 3-pointer and a dunk back-to-back and Pusica made a 3 to push it to 69-53 and Northeastern cruised from there.

Zane Martin scored 21 points with five rebounds and three assists for Towson before fouling out. The Tigers have lost three of their last five.
