Wilson's late jumper puts Kennesaw St. over SC Upstate 81-80

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Anthony Wilson scored 22 points including a jumper with two seconds left to give Kennesaw State an 81-80 victory over South Carolina Upstate on Saturday.

Wilson's game-winner for the Owls (6-16, 2-5 Atlantic Sun) came after South Carolina Upstate's Malik Moore hit two free throws for the lead with 16 seconds left.

The Spartans (6-18, 1-6) led 44-43 at intermission and pushed it to 65-42 with 13:31 to go in the second half before the Owls rallied to go ahead 79-78 on a Tyler Hooker layup with 42 seconds remaining.

Nick Masterson added 16 points with three 3-pointers and six assists for Kennesaw State and Hooker had 11 points.

Ramel Thompkins scored 21 points to lead the Spartans, who have lost three straight. Deion Holmes added 19 points and Moore finished with 16.
